First Week Update Log
Hi everyone,
We are the DevTeam of 'Sanfaro Drive', a game that intends to provide a duality of gameplay between a smooth relaxing gameplay of being a taxi driver and a more intense one of being a mafia getaway driver.
Our main character is Saturnino Ricci, but most people call him Nino. He’s just a simple taxi driver living in the city of Sanfaro, in the current day. Or is he? Secretly, Nino is also a heist getaway driver - just like the movie Drive - for the sanfaran mafia and intends to grow, within the organization, by earning respect from the guys high above.
For the start of this development, we merely started by creating a "demo" part of the open world of Sanfaro, which will be the base for the suburbs region, and implemented a car with basic mechanics for the sake of testing.
For this week, I (Bernardo) will be in charge of developing the car's mechanics into being as intuitive and fun to play with as possible. I will also implement some o the future powerups/upgrades of the car, such as the boost and jumping and the mechanics for the fuel consumption of the car.
Guilherme will be in charge of creating prototype taxi missions, that will consist of an NPC waiting for the taxi, once the taxi gets nearby, the NPC enters the car and once the car arrives at the destination, the NPC leaves the car.
Diogo will be in charge of creating the game's minimap and an arrow above the car that will point towards an objective, to ease the player's navigation.
Gonçalo will be in charge of creating prototype NPC cars that will populate the city to give it a sense of livelihood.
Hope we can come back next week with good news!
